Tim Cogley Foundation Welcomes New Patrons and Honorary Patrons

The Tim Cogley Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of some Liverpool FC legends as Patrons and Honorary Patrons, further extending our reach and influence to promote cardiovascular screening and raise awareness about coronary heart disease among young adults.

We are honoured to welcome former Liverpool FC legends John Barnes and Mark Wright as our newest Patrons. Their invaluable support and commitment to our cause will undoubtedly inspire many to prioritise their heart health and participate in our screening initiatives.

Also, we are equally excited to introduce Steve Nicol (USA) and Craig Johnston (Australia) as our first Honorary Patrons. Their involvement will be instrumental in extending our reach beyond the UK, as they lend their support and advocacy efforts in their respective home countries.

The Tim Cogley Foundation was established by family and close friends following the devastating loss of Tim Cogley, a young man whose life may have been saved through early cardiovascular screening.

Our mission is to preserve and protect the health of young adults aged 18 to 39 in Merseyside, Chester, and West Cheshire by promoting and facilitating free cardiovascular screening and raising public awareness about its potential benefits.

For those aged 18 to 24, our emphasis is on educating and equipping young people with practical ways to manage their health effectively. For individuals aged 25 to 39, our screening programme aims to estimate their cardiovascular risk over a 10-year period, maximising the opportunity for early intervention and promoting a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

As Tim’s father, Frank Cogley, poignantly states, “Tim’s life may have been saved if there had been a systematic screening of his age group, a group currently and sadly outside the regular coverage of those responsible for offering preventative medical care. We are determined to achieve something positive for them by offering their families a genuine chance of avoiding our family’s tragedy and heartache.”

We invite all young men and women in the region to participate in our screening programme and encourage everyone to prioritise their heart health. You can book a screening right here on our website.

Together, with the invaluable support of our Patrons, Honorary Patrons, and the community, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of many more individuals and families.
